The First Aid Facilities and Services Code of Practice (2002) outlines the practical requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (1984) in providing adequate first aid services and facilities to mitigate the consequences of identified risks.

Identifying a workplace’s first aid requirements is a consultative process, as requirements are likely to vary across different workplaces. A St John Safe Assessment assists workplaces with their first aid training, equipment, facility, and procedural requirements.

First aid workplace assessments are completed for free by St John. They will arrange a site visit where they will complete an assessment before advising you on the correct first aid kits and beneficial supplies and provide information for dealing with medical emergencies.

These assessments are a legislative and WARRRL WHSE audit requirement. It is therefore beneficial to request a workplace assessment through St John.

Register for a St John Assessment.
