To ensure we are meeting our legislative compliance requirements as per the Refund Point agreement (Schedule 2, 4.3(g) Environmental Health and Safety audit and access), an auditing team is conducting safety audits for all operators.
These audits are completed by an external auditor who looks at WHS legislation (WA), Workers Compensation and Injury Management Legislation (WA), Environmental Protection Act WA and Heavy Vehicle Legislation. Auditors also review Traffic Management Plans and Emergency Response Plans.
Why do we need to do a safety audit?
It is a requirement of the RPO Agreement to ensure that all operators are compliant with legislation and the Agreement (in regard to work health safety and environment) which in turn ensures WARRRL is also compliant.
How often are they happening?
Refund Points are audited on a regualr basis.
What can I do to prepare?
Please ensure that the WHSE paperwork that you submitted for mobilisation (or recently) is implemented and in practice. The auditor will review this paperwork and then audit to see if the safety measures have been implemented appropriately.
Will I receive feedback?
Yes, if necessary there will be clear corrective actions which will be provided to the operator. The auditors will work through it with you. Timeframes will also be provided to ensure we are giving you the best possible chance of successfully implementing all required safety measures.
