Right to work
There are significant penalities for employing staff who do not have a right to work in Australia. Always check a birth certificate or passport. You can check overseas visa holder information via the VEVO site.
Fair Work Information Statement
If you are an employer in the Federal system you need to ensure all employees have a copy of the Fair Work Information Statement. There is a separate version for casuals and a failure to provide this can result in fines.

Superannuation is payable to all employees (including casuals) and the rates are increasing effective 1 July each year.
